| Here is a brief breakdown of groups, fees and general information for registration. The coaches will determine which group your child will be practicing with. Groups are broken down into 3 categories: Year round (September-March and May-Aug.); Short Course/Non-summer (Sept.-March); and Long Course/Summer only (May -Aug.) All groups (not including Ripples) will have 2 choices for payments: 8 payments or payment in full. Payment in full will have a 10% discount. This discount does not apply to "Summer only" category or the Ripples Group. Registration fees include a team suit (Ripples not included but can be purchased separately-or a black suit) , team T-shirt and a team cap. Payments to be made by the 5th of the month with April being the last payment. Multi-swimmer family discount: 5% off total dues for 2 swimmers; 3 or more swimmers-20% off total dues. Anyone interested in becoming an Official- there is a $150 bonus. USA Registration Fee $70. Required for all competitive swimmers. Paid at time of registration. Family Meet Participation Fee $150. Check to be held until after required volunteer commitment is met. Requirement is to donate (2) complete sessions of volunteer work for each AMS meet the club hosts. Meets are scheduled for Oct. 30-31 2010 and Jan. 29-30, 2011. Ripples group will be required to volunteer for dual meets the club hosts (details, fee and dates TBD). Tsunami Group: This group is for the more accomplished and committed swimmers in High School grades 7-12. Competes at the local, regional, and national levels. Practices up to 9 times a week for as much as 3+ hours. Yearly: 8 payments of $125 or $900 for payment in full. (10% discount reflected) Short Course: 8 payments of $90.62 or $652.50 payment in full (10% discount reflected) Summer Only: $300 White Waters: This group is for swimmers age 10 and up who have skills and are working to get to the next level. Competes at the local level and within the dual meet leagues. Practices up to 6 times a week for 2+ hours. Yearly: 8 payments of $103.12 or payment in full $742.50 (10% discount reflected) Short Course: 8 payments of $75 or payment in full $540.00 (10% discount reflected) Summer Only: $250.00 Breakers: This group is for swimmers age 9-12 who have general skills and are working to get to the next level. Competes at the local level and within the dual meet leagues. Practices up to 4 times a week for 1+ hours. Yearly: 8 payments of $78.12 or payment in full $562.50 (10% discount reflected) Short Course: 8 payments of $56.25 or payment in full $405.00 (10% discount reflected) Summer Only: $200 High School: Practices with the Tsunami or White Waters group during the school off-season and in conjunction with the High School schedule. Competes at all levels with the approval of the school coaches. Yearly: 8 payments of $43.75 or payment in full $315.00 (10% discount reflected) Short course: TBD Summer only: TBD Ripples Group: Introduction into the competitive sport of swimming for the swimmer in elementary grades (ages 6 and up). This program is limited to 1st year swimmers only. Session is approximately 10-11 weeks long with practices 2-3 days a week for 1.5 hours. Available sessions run Sept.-Dec. and Jan-March and May-July. Emphasis is on stroke development and the team sport of swimming. Competes at the local level and within the dual meet leagues. $150 per session (paid in full) Please allow for 4 separate checks at registration. | To whom this may concern: Starting this 2011-2012 season, our registration opportunities for the West Allegheny Aqua Club will be held in September only for all groups with the exception of our Ripples group. Our Ripple group is a 10-12 week session with sign-ups in Sept. and January. Our January registration period is open only to the Ripples group which consists of elementary age, beginner swimmers. We will have an open registration for all groups once again in May for our summer team. We do not want to discourage anyone from swimming or to try it out, but we are a team, and we have a season just as any other sport. Our season is September through March. If you wanted the opportunity to train with the West Allegheny Aqua Club, you will still have the chance to register at this time.
