There will be a WAAC Board Meeting on Monday October 5 at 6:30pm in the
WAHS Library.  All membership is invited to attend.  Open forum is at the end of the
meeting.



A meeting for all WAAC parents will be held on Monday October 12 at 6:30pm in
the WAHS Cafeteria.  Information booklets will be provided with a discussion about
a variety of topics.  This will be an important meeting especially for new families to
attend since we will be reviewing a lot of information!  There will be a time for
questions.



For parents who gave a fundraising deposit:  Mark your calendars!  Your first
commitment will be at the Fall Festival meet on October 31-November 1 which we
will be hosting.  There will be 4 sessions (a morning and afternoon session on
Saturday and a morning and afternoon session on Sunday).  Just a reminder that
you must work a minimum of 2 sessions that weekend (exception:  officials must
work 1 session outside of officiating).  Even if your child is not swimming, you must
volunteer for your 2 sessions.

  MEET FEES !
It is a requirement and expectation that meet
entry fees be paid at the time of submission
of the swimmer’s meet entry form.  We have
many accounts that have not fully paid their
meet entry fees.  Please keep in mind that
we are responsible for paying the total meet
entry fees at the time that we submit the
entries.  We cannot continue to pull out
money from the WAAC account without it
being replenished by the individual
members meet entry fees at the time of
submission.

Effective immediately (including the Pitt Sr.
Circuit and B Champs which are due in the
next week), entries will not be processed
until your meet entry portion of your account
is fully paid off.  This will include any monies
owed from the past plus the fees for the
meet you are currently entering.

If you have questions about your account
and in particular the meet entry fees, please
contact Tara Race.  Dawn Musiol will be
checking in with Tara to see that your meet
entry portion of your account is current prior
to being able to register you for a meet.

To all WAAC members:

We will be looking to fill 4 board member vacancies.  Below is an excerpt
from the bylaws which provide information about the board.  Meetings are
held once a month, usually the first Monday evening of the month.  The
new board members will attend the August meeting and officially be a
board member starting in September.

We are currently seeking nominations for board members.  All
nominations should be sent to Kathe Niznik at kathen@comcast.net by
May 15, 2010.  Then a nominating committee will handle the board
elections.

If you have any questions about what it takes to be on the WAAC board,
what responsibilities you may have, etc., please contact Kathe Niznik
either by e-mail or you may call her at 412-608-4583.

As I found out myself, this is a good way to learn more about competitive
swimming and the operations of the club.  We welcome new parents as
well as well as those that have been around awhile!
